Hi
I have 2 images and i want to create a gif image so that i can switch between images but having it as a soft transition ie 1st picture fades out as the second picture fades in over the top of it. any help to achieve this would be great.

.gif is not good for 'smooth' transitions between images. Something like flash would work better. You can pm me if you need help.

You can use ImageReady to create a "tween to fade" but Gx3 is right, Flash produces better rollovers.

is a link to Mulitmedia training, 'Keyframes & Tweening' Flash tutorial. This tut is about making a slide show where several images fade in and out. Since you only have two images you'll get to skip a few steps.

is a link to a tut 'The Basics of Animation in ImageReady' that goes into detail about tweening.

I highly recommend Imageready. Unless your serious about getting into some hefty animations, Imageready is the way to go.
