Because oosts can be informative.
Beside, there is enough activity here to keep someone occupied for several hours a day, if this cleanup was to be done, and the moderators are giving some of their time.
I personally prefer the old thread to stay here.
At least, you can have some reference on subjects that have already been debated.
The only threads that are deleted, as far as I know, are the spam threads.
