Adobe Photoshop

Okay so the other day I got on my computer and popped open photoshop. I never opened any files during this session. Photoshop tells me it's corrupted and gave an option to update it, so I did. My computer restarted, I opened photoshop again, and go to open one of my .psd files and it is completely gone. Nowhere to be found on my computer. I downloaded a program that recovers deleted files and recovered it, however photoshop won't open the file, and neither will any other program. It keeps telling me "Cannot complete request because this is not a valid photoshop file" or something similar to that. When I checked the file type, instead of .psd it "Adobe Photoshop Image".

So is there anyway I can get this file to open ever again?

Probably not, sounds like it has been damaged.

There is a program out there, for free, that repairs damaged PSD files, it MIGHT work. I'm not home, and I don't have it on my laptop -but if I can remember the name of it I'll post back.

The file has probably been damaged. There are software out there which may be able to fix it but im not entirely sure

Sounds like you got some real gremlins in your computer. I would run some anti-virus software and see what happens, I have seen some really strange things like this result from a virus.
