Hey There!

We had to make a blog showcasing our Photoshop 1 class homework. I thought I'd share it with you all here and see what you guys think of my work? Do you think I'll have a future in graphic/web-design? Any and all comments and questions are welcomed!

If these are all original and if you supplied your own source material... If the teacher said. " Design a piece that shows your proficiency in Masking" instead of saying "Take this fish and put it here, next to this sculpture."... If all this is true, then yes indeed, I think you should pursue graphic design. Nice job. I really liked assignment # 6

Nice job. One thing I'd say though, is don't let any of us tell you one way or the other if you have a future as a designer. As long as you have the desire to learn how you can be.

Yes you certainly show enough skill, but know that throughout your career there will always be people telling you that you aren't good enough. Sometimes those people will have legitimate points and other times those people might simply be mean spirited or jealous or so many other things that really have nothing to do with you.

@RoyDixon - Yes, the teacher gave us the option to either use our own material or the ones provided by the book we use. I opted to use materials other than those provided by our text books' CD.

Thanks! That's my favorite as well.

@vangogh - I hear ya'. I just wanted opinions on whether or not others think I've got some sort of artistic eye. It's one thing hearing it from the close people around you and another thing hearing it from complete strangers. And you're spot on about the people telling you that you're not good enough. I feel as if that's been a constant thus far in my life. I guess that just gives me another reason to strive to be better.

True. Feedback is always good. Never let the people who doubt you let you doubt yourself. Creative work is hard enough. We all doubt ourselves at times. Work to prove all the doubters wrong.

Awesome works. I guess you can have a future if you want to fulfill it. Although some of the works you've done are basic, that's a very good start I guess. And eventually, after continuous learning and practicing it, you can definitely do better than those.

Yeah, Homework#6 looks awesome!

Thanks Zeruel! I try take the "less is more" approach in my design process (if you haven't noticed). I am however looking forward to making more complex images as my skill-level increases and eventually start using the HTML/CSS I've been learning to start making some sites. It's definitely a process.
