Was 'realistic' the actual term you were looking for?
"realistic" is the right term.
You'll never get "realistic" font display on any Windows machine. The font rendering engines they use do not determine realistic character widths and the font smoothing they use isn't up to much. It's the main reason the Mac has always been favoured by print designers.
As they said above, changing the anti-aliasing settings will help. But then as soon as you code anything into HTML, you'll lose that as it appears in the browser because font display is controlled by the system. You can alter the settings in Windows I believe, but I can't remember where. Control Panels, I expect. Display preferences.
