RGB & HSB settings - simple one

Wotcha, folks.

I'm trying to create a collection of images and give them all a similar colour as the background for a company's logo.

I've done this before and just changed the image's Hue,Saturation & Brightness with the values given for it's RGB setting.

For example, if I have a background colour of RGB 128,128,255 the HSB equivalent is reported as 240,50,100. Yet when I perform the actions IMAGE->ADJUSTMENTS->HUE/SATURATION and apply these settings (with colorise selected) the image goes perfectly white - yet i'm sure this is how I've done it in the past.

Is it because the Brightness is set to 100 that it goes perfectly white? With the brightness set to around 40/50 I kind of get the result I'm after - but is it technically in the same palette family as RGB 128,128,255 as it looks a little blue.

Sorry if this all rambling.

Regards,

Jack.

I think I may have sussed it.

When I increase the saturation to 100, it looks a lot better.
