Hello,
Can anyone tell me the difference between Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Fireworks. Is one better than the other? Thanks,

I think its down to personal preference i personaly prefer Photoshop cs over Fireworks but if you use MX products i assume that they will work better together then using another companies programs with them. I stick to photoshop as im far more familiar with its tools and layout than i am fireworks, but i do intend to play with fireworks when i have time.

fireworks is more vector based and is aimed at stuff for the web

ps is more bitmap based (at least its bitmap tools are stronger than FW's, but FW's vector tools and live effects are better). photoshop (ps) is primarily aimed at print work, though recently it has become more of a dual purpose tool. try both and see whcih one suits your style and needs I prefer FW, though i usually use PS for my work on photos

Comparing photoshop to fireworks is like comparing apples to oranges. Some of the features they offer are similar and so is the products intent but photoshop offers so many more features!
