My goal is to have the first frame with: 'h' second frame with 'he' third frame with 'hel' and so on. But when I creat a new frame and add more text to that frame, it changes the other frame as well

. How do I get it to stop doing that.

you're not changing the frame you're changing the layer

it's been ages since i animated with ImageReady, but i think you need a different layer for each frame (1 layer with 'h,' 1 layer with 'he,' etc) with the opacity set to 0 until their frame comes up

i'm sure someone else will have a better solution but that'll work if you need to get it done

VitaminB is correct in saying 'you're not changing the frame you're changing the layer'.

So to remedy this,
Create three separate Layers.
1. h (First frame: set this to Visible and Hide all the others)
2. he (Second Frame: set to visibile and hide all the others)
3. hel (Third Frame: set this to Visible and Hide all the others)
