Hello,

As the topic of my title implies, I am need of help with a serious Photoshop block.

I am looking to design a few websites but when it comes to producing the graphics I am continually failing as a result of this. I think the block has also arisen by my rise in ambition. I could easily open PS now and design a very modest banner of avatar, but instead I want to produce more impressive work.

My asual method consists of:

- Opening the canvas and then applying the 'Clouds' filter.

- I then alternate between white and black strokes with my brushes, adjusting its opacity accordingly.

- When I'm more or less satisfied, which lately isn't happening, I then go to 'Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Levels' and tweak it around.

- Subsequently I then open 'Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance' but this is proving a snag as well. I can never seem to form a hue that satisfies me. It's either too bland, too elaborate or excruciatingly bright.

I'm aware of the common principles such as perseverance, but this block is actually becoming rather depressing and halting my projects.

I will appreciate all constructive input.

Peace

- Dahaka

Broaden your horizons beyond the "render clouds' and do something else. Look for inspiration elsewhere, take a walk, go to an art museum, just don't limit yourself so much to one method. What you do for a site depends largely on the purpose, business and goal for a site. One size does not fit all.. nor does 1 effect.

I find the best way to be inspired in photoshop desinging is by looking through tutorials. You can learn creative new methods and start thinking "outside the box"
