Hi there,

I've got a batch of 100+ images that I'd like to resize and manipulate and get them to no more than 360 pixels wide

The problem is that some of them are less than 360 pixels wide.

Is it possible to write a conditional statement in PhotoShop 7 that would allow me to only resize those images that are greater than 360 pixels wide?

Thanks.

You should be able to define a max height as well as width and keep the constraints on so that even if they are less than 360 wide, you can define height.

OR - If you have Windows, you can sort the file directory by dimensions and throw all of the image files too narrow in another folder before you run your batch.

Okay...so how would I define a max height? I know how to define a fixed one, but not a max one.

Also, the idea of sorting them by dimensions and having them in their own folders wouldn't work because I have multiple conditions I need to keep in mind (width <= height, width > height, width < =360, width > 360.)

Its been awhile since I've done batches in PS, but you can create a new action or droplet with Fit Image...

Set your max width to 360 and set a max height to whatever you want. I still think sorting the images by dimensions would still work because I wouldn't think the height would make a difference. Move all the images that are wider than 360 into another folder and run the batch on that group only. If height is a issue, you can run yet another batch on the other group using the same type of action.

Actually...I just tried this Fit Image thing, and for what I need to do with it, it's perfect.

Thanks, mgraphic. Talkupation coming your way (assuming I can award it to you.)
