Hello everyone. I am so glad that I found this site. Now I can learn even more about the great program Photo Shop! I currently own Version 7 and I have a long way from mastering it. I am not a novice but not far from it.

I am currently working on a history website design. The idea is to create a web template that looks and feels like a news paper out of the 1900's. This is the front page of a newspaper from 1905. This is the look that I am working on. I have tried a few things from noise to clouds to fog to get the look but to no avail If you have any idea what I can do please let me know. I am a sponge and ready to learn everything that I can!

Also if your wondering why I don't have a web design site in my profile. This is because I am in the military USAF and was shipped out to the Middle East last year and my business suffered I am back now and will work on getting my site back up once I add some new designs to my portfolio.

Thanks for your time!
Aaron

Sorry, I'm not having much luck either. But I would think that your pages would be fairly dark. Perhaps a slightly yellowed paper would work better? There have to be some tutorials out there for yellowed paper. Just a suggestion.

I think I am getting closer. Started the template last night and will tweak (setting alpha) the layers to get the effect that I want. I will try to post my progress off and on.

Still if you have a sure fire way to do this let me know

Sorry, I'm not quite sure I understand what help you need with Photoshop here. Are you trying to create images for the background that look like newspaper?

No trying to create the newspaper look as the background. I am overlaying that with SEVERAL layers for the template itself. In the end the site will be a Newspaper from the 1900's. Sort of like the old gangstas2.com site. That was done with the 1930's in mind.
