i too agree they are pretty annoying... but i needed a way to generate a little extra income from one of my sites. after some research i found www.mediatickets.net - and within an hour of installing the code on the site, $ started to roll in. they pay $0.22 per US install, you really can't beat that

edit: should also mention that approval was almost instant

That's insanely high payment... And pretty much everyone that knows nothing clicks yes... hence the abundance of spyware...

Almost tempting, but I couldn't put my users through that.

Yes be aware of activeX if you have returning surfers to your page. For those who do not care it is good money. Now there is new program that pays 20 cents per install www.loudcash.com and also little bit different www.cash4toolbar.com which pays 15 cents plus it add your bookmark to all computers where is installed plus you get 25% from earnings generated from your installation.
The rest of ActiveX programs is on my page - see sig.

Loudcahs seems to be one of the ones that pay the most per install. However, I tried to test out the code and nothing happened.

Does anyone here have any experience with loudcash? I have a site that gets over 1,500 uniques per day and I think it is time for me to make some money from it.

You might want to check yoursitebar.com , it's a new activex program that let you build your own site toolbar for your surfers to install. You make 25 cents per install and you get traffic from the links you put in the toolbar.

I would never use something that says we pay "up to.."

Either you pay it, or you don't.

I have found some new pay per install ActiveX programs and best of them seems to be YourSiteBar.com that is probably from the same people who manage toobarcash.
You can create your own toolbar with your own links and your own search box so you can make extra profit from affiliating or increase traffic to your sites . Beside that YourSiteBar pays 10, 20 or 25 cents per install, it depends what will be installed into surfers computer.

I only get 2k installs per month, so I would only earn a 15 cents per install. They also are too new in this business, have you used them before? How do they pay?

I may join to check the code, doesn't give much information on the outside.

hmm is it worth risking returning visitors for the sake of making a few extra dollars?

only a few hours ago i was bombed with adware/spyware which installed by itself. It took me ages to clean up, and i'm still trying to clean it up all now. I wont be returning to that site again...

HOW CAN YOU GUYS MARKET THIS TRASH???

Don't you realize that some of the ActiveX & Toolbar programs you are helping to spread STEAL affiliate commissions??? Have you looked at what you are spreading around inside these apps? They are filled with parasites and you are helping to spread them! You may make some money selling these apps, but then you are also losing money when they steal your commissions from other programs.

Programs like this HURT the entire industry. Programs like this increase the number of spyware and anti-adware programs - MANY OF WHICH EAT OR BLOCK AFFILIATE COOKIES SO THAT NO ONE MAKES MONEY.

Yes I'm YELLING and SCREAMING MAD!

Don't call yourself an affiliate and then spread a scourge that hurts everyone in the industry!

I agree...

It really annoys me when you have them popup and then when you press no just tells you that you must press yes to continue.. All i do is exit the site..

And whats the point anyway.. Win XP SP2 blocks them.. and who would be mad enough to click yes anyway?

You may be making extra money but also losing visitors.. As I guarantee if someone gets that **** off your site and it annoys them they WONT come back!

Don't worry, in a few days there will be a good way to get through SP2, activex developers aren't just going to see their business go down the drain thanks to SP2.

I get over 2,000 first time visitors every single day, couldn't care less if they don't come back. And there are enough adware cleaners outthere to fix your problems

" You may make some money selling these apps, but then you are also losing money when they steal your commissions from other programs"
I don't use other programs, so I don't care what these things do.

So, if you want to cry about what active x does, go post a new thread, this one is for comparing the different programs.
