I had a CJ account for about 5 years and never did a whole lot with it. I kep it because I had a deal with some online newspapers and I made about $100 a month for all those years. Last year, my deal with the papers ended due to new ownership. I didn't do anything with my CJ account and was dropped. I'm not sure of the time frame, it was around 8 months of inactivity but I don't know exactly when I was dropped. I recently got back with them for a new gig and I have no complaints.

I did use CJ for a while - but it was on one of those sites that didn't take off.

The ads are still up, but the site needs a full rework. When I redo it I will probably avoid CJ - it took more time than it was worth for me to keep it up to date.

I have a few other sites to re-do first, it will be a while.

My 2c: I am increasingly angry at CJ because of their partly nonfunctional system. It happens regularly, that I want to get an HTML code for an affiliate product and all I get is just a generic error message (something like "There was an error on our part, we have logged it and will look into it").
I contacted them last week because of this but so far no response.

Does it happen to you too, or am I the only unlucky soul?

You get removed if you are not active. If you are running ads and generating some sort of activity, I don't think they will remove you. I ran their program for 2-3 years trying this and that without making any money. Once I quit running any of their programs, I was removed within a few months.

I am currently using them again, mainly because a am running an online store affiliate that goes through them. Some kind of special set up where I make a higher percentage on sales than you get through the public offer at CJ and work directly with the companies reps.

Be very careful using CJ, they'll kick you for no apparent reason.
I've heard they withholded 32k from a user because he was apparently making sales on a domain which they claimed had TM issues (which it really didn't).

But they didn't wanna take any risks, (I and many others still don't even believe there were any) so they just chose to kick their affiliate and withhold over 30,000USD

Very slick move, if you ask me
