**** it, the MLM and PIPS vultures are closing in on this forum, just look at these new "Affiliate Marketing" threads and their signatures!

You can tell already by their domain (and often even user) names:
"roadtomillionaire.com" (user getrich)
"moneyinfinitesecrets.com" (user jereal)
"moneymakingdirect.com" (user Alan Moore)
"pluginprofitsite.com" (user Heriberto)
"pluginprofit.com" (user mayorking)
"pluginprofitsite.com" - again (user racdyn)
"wealthofaverysmartguy.com" (user theverysmartguy)

And many more, just look around.
Is anyone really interested in this crap (besides the vultures themselves, that is), or is it time for the mods to do something?

I want my CJ/Azoogle/Clickbank/CPA Empire/... discussions back, not these MLM pervs spamming Earners' Forum!

While I like to hear people's experiances with these types of programs, I think it's getting a bit much. I'm with you, back to the CJ/Clickbank discussions please!

Well I feel all new members should be welcomed but NOT to push their MLMs so I agree with you. MLMs make me ill to even look at.

We can't exactly ban people for mentioning their MLM but maybe if we made it clear to them that EarnersForum is not a synonym for all those other MLM haven websites out there. More importantly we could explain to them up front that this forum is more geared towards elite earners and members that want to follow in those footsteps with good old fashioned smarts and hard work. Not shortcut to riches schemes.

What if we educated these members and showed them what an MLM or PIP (or any program with the word downline in it) is really all about.

What if we showed them how much more money they could make by owning their own website or promoting and workign directly with the affiliate networks and CPM/CPC ad networks.

I think that would help make them realize that's what we are mainly about here.

I made a post on my blog about scams. It may or may not reflect the links presented there, but it's still true to some extent

I was about to mention this actually. In my understanding they are get rich quick kind of schemes? I find it one thing to promote that kind of site at a forum for it but to try to stick it to fellow webmasters? If someone posted that they were going to do businesswith someone who you knew was a scammer you would say something to help them out so why try and make them do something you know isn't in their best interest. Normally when browsing members signatures I find a great wealth of information and good websites but on this forum I see mostly get rich quick schemes.

A good idea would be to disallow people putting referal urls in their signatures or posting them. I know a forum that talked about get paid to programs had to do it. Most of those get paid to sites to click links and such pay you to refer so people were saying how great a program was and that they payed out when they really did not and just wanted a referal. Since they did that you can trust what people say about a program because they are not getting anything if you signup for a site. Maybe something similar should come into play here? It odd though that most of the web master forums I belong to have not had any issue with this problem.

I agree that MLM is widely associated with scams, but I personally know several people who are making more money than most people here per month from working with legit MLM companies.

I have never seen an online based MLM company that wasn't a well disguised scam though (most cases they are flat out obvious scams). The people I know who are making good money are making it after years and years of continued hard work.

There is no such thing as get rick in legit business unless you start the business yourself. Almost all online based MLM companies are started by people who wanted to get rich quick themselves, so they have a basic product and service that they make money on by selling the "entry into the business" and getting others to do the same. In the end nobody really had a product of any value, and you have a whole group of people scamming people.

Most people assume all MLM companies are as I described above, when in fact some are not. I do feel that all online MLM companies are jokes though. Find me an online MLM where people underneath the big income earners can make more money than those who brought them in and you might be onto something.. In all cases I've seen so far it is just the opposite, and the people at the bottom get burned.

PIPS is definitely not an illegal pyramid scheme. A pyramid scheme has no products or services. NOT TO MENTION YOU DON'T PAY A PENNY FOR PIPS, the money you pay for your affiliate memberships includes products or services that you get for your membership.

You have an equal chance to build an organization under you and there is no reason that you can't make as much money as the people who were there before you ("at the top"), as long as you work as hard and as long as they have to build their business.

Pyramids do nothing but have people pay for a 'chance' to make some income just for being in the 'matrix' - In truth the only income is their membership dues going to the people at the top. At first they may pay a few people just to get testimonials or make it seem like there is a possibility to make a fantastic income. Related to this is a 'Ponzi' scheme where they just shuffle membership dues from one member to the other, again to give the appearance that there is an income possible.

hah, I agree, we should discuss REAL affiliate marketing, I would hate to see those guys all over the forum, I would also like to see more topics about CJ and Azoogle, not PIPS or anything else, I also agree with GeorgeB that we should educate them and help them get into the real marketing.

There are too many sites like "yours" already on the web, do you really think that you can make money with it?

Like I said in the other thread

If any program you recommend here (if you ever do) is not a scam then you have nothing to worry about. Especially if you're not spamming.

If you're genuinely here to help people and learn without mentioning your PIP program every chance you get I don't think anyone here will disagree with you being here.

It's the people that do all of the above that are the problem.

I want to change my site to look different from other PIPS sites. But it is not so easy when you don't understund so much html...Do you have a suggestion?

Open a blog, start writing, have some affiliate links on it, ... Maybe then you can buy a website or even stay with your blog.

But DEFINITELY dump this page.

I think DJ is right and after a month of affiliate marketing this is my conclusion.

What is annoying is people who make posts directing people to their signature. This should be punnishable by a wanring and thne a ban.

I just started with MLM. It seems pretty straight forward to me. Maybe someone will post some info about MLM scams and such. It would be helpful to us Newbies who are all still learning.

I have been posting here for about a week, and I never mention my method of earning money. I thought the forum was for earners.

I happen to be a student of Shawn Casey, a very good affiliate marketer who is in cahoots with names like Joe Vitale, Jeff Schuman, Jack Humphrey, Mike G and others who have made money online with several methods.

"Rich Dad Poor Dad" Robert Kiyosaki, "Nothing Down" Robert G. Allen, Zig Ziglar and others fully support multi level sales programs. So does Coca Cola, Coors, Tupperware, and any insurance industry.

Why leave money on the table? IF there is a way to make money on the net, use it.

By the way, to the person who mentioned that he has never seen anyone "under" someone else make more money than those "above", he hasn't looked very hard. That is a common occurrence. Some of the "above" people even quit.

Check any high powered sales letter on the net Non-MLM or MLM, and you will see inflated claims of making money fast. That is not limited to the MLM "vultures".

I know that any business is a commitment. I am in several affiliate programs with legitimate products, but why not cash in on a multi-tiered program? Even Mike G recommends 2 tier affiliate programs over single tier. The late Corey Rudl even taught that and Derek Gehl is continuing the legacy.

I think there is a lot of commonalities that can be discussed at length with any online venture - without selling each other our programs. Now if you get curious enough to click a signature file, then so be it. I have clicked through lots of files to learn from anyone I can learn from.

Cheers!

Donn
