It seems like the only people making money are the ones selling this "make money now online" cr@p.

I hate this stuff, its such a lie!

I feel sorry for people signing up for this stuff..

I agree. There are a lot more people getting paid to show you how to make money than there are making money with what they are teaching. Atleast that seems to be the case here.

I've seen this way of making money by selling books about making money since 2002. Back then names like Yanik and Ken Evoy were such a hot item. Sure, they made a lot of good and valid points. But spending a bundle on those e-books ? Eeerrr thanks, may be later.

If you're diligent enough, you should be able to find precious learning materials for free on blogs and forums. Check out on Adsense. Everything I know and learn about Adsense, I found them all on forums and blogs. Heck, you don't even have to be lucky. They're well indexed by Google, definitely not hidden nor only available for a selected few.

One solution to all this buying money making ebooks just to be told to sell money making ebooks is to stop being an "opportunity seeker". These are the people that keep buying these stuff. Instead become an "entrepreneur" they have real business plans, real products and services ,real record keeping etc.

I agree with that. My target market is no longer "opportunity seekers" but people who are seriously interested in building a business and marketing. Opp seekers do nothing but spend a lot of energy jumping around different opportunites while all the while making no money!

but seriously, here's an example 'lower your blood pressure', or 'office chairs', whatever, there's a market for these products and I bet not as much competition. These two niches are just off the top of my head and the products that I need

It always comes down to this: If you have an idea that makes lots of money, you are not likely to sell it to everyone who will end up competing with you.

There seems to be an element of desperation creeping into many online operations -be they affiliate, buying ebooks or signing up for courses - a combination of price slashing at the low end and ' old chums networking buy this or youre dead in 2007' hype at the top.

Can this be part of the ' long tail' breakup of the net into segments?

The problem is that 99 of the people who enter the cyber world think it is a miracle way of making lots of money with no work involved. They think that by reading some crappy ebook they will find the gold pot.

I think many of the programs, affiliate items, etc all have a chance to generate you some money, but why most fail is that they jump from one to another. Stick to an idea and build your traffic and recognition, its the same for offline businesses. You can make money selling anything, but if you change product every month you will fail.

They make money because it's an easy market.

Everyone is searching for the magic pill. The magic pill doesn't exist. You have to find something that works and just repeat it until you hit your goal.

Opp seekers are passive people. They just signed up and let recruiter take care for them. That's what they hope for.

Wow, I have to strongly disagree - Speaking solely of affiliate marketing - the affiliates that are making the most money are the ones who know who to do market research and know some of the subtle nuances of affiliate marketing.

I'll give you a prime example:

Basically you buy a product online when you want to learn more about a certain subject, correct? (for example "make money online")

Some groups of customers are very excited to learn about their respective niches.

This leads to being able to find out what groups are the most excited about learning such new things, and therefore the most willing to shell out cash more easily then the average customer.

It then comes back to experience and knowing a little about niche markets. I know that there is one group of people in particular who tend to be "buy happy" - as I like to put it - this group is new, or soon to be mothers ... think about it.

I also know fitness is always atop the best selling products, along with sex/relationship stuff etc.. but I want to focus on fitness.

So we've got two hot niche markets - new mothers and fitness

This leads to knowing how to do market research which may lead you to an affiliate program at a website called "pregnancywithoutpounds.com" which gives you $26/sale.

So now you've got a receptive and purchase ready audience with a hot product that makes you $26/sale.

Imagine having just 10 of those types of sites that generate 1 sale per day. I know they all wouldn't have the same $/sale but say they all made you $26/sale.

$260/day is not bad for doing a little research one time and knowing that these make money ebooks are crap..

oh btw that $260 is just for one sale... imagine just two sales/site/day -- $580/day isn't too bad either.

Along with being sort of educational, that example was to show you that there are real marketers making money from doing real research into hot niche markets other than make money opportunities.

So I just hope you understand that there is so much competition in the make money niche, affiliates promoting these products are not making very much money compare to the amount of time and effort involved in getting your make money site seen before the other millllllions of these websites.
