old G doesn't allow the following on Adwords apparently:
Quote:
Bridge Pages: Ads for webpages that act as an intermediary, whose sole purpose is to link or redirect traffic to the parent company.
So an affiliate can't have a landing page? How does that make sense? You need to duplicate the mother company's whole efforts with an e-commerce system and make the sale on your own site? That defeats the whole purpose of being an affiliate?

Also, what's this mean?
Quote:
We allow affiliates to use AdWords advertising. Please note that we'll only display one ad for affiliates and parent companies sharing the same Display URL per search query. We also monitor and don't allow the following:

* Redirect URLs: Ads that contain Display URLs that automatically redirect to the parent company.
I've seen it done.

Anyways, are bridges and redirects only a problem if the mother company is also bidding on the term? IE G's purpose with the aff policy is to avoid duplicate content or what they call "double serving?"

Love to have this cleared up...

You don't need to go to that extreme. But you can't just shadow exactly what the merchant has... Google wants you to add value. You can read this for more details:
Thin affiliates are offensive says Google

You can create a landing page, but it must add value. Best bet is to create a mini site or BLOG devoted to the offer you want to promote.
