Pop ups were very extremely popular way to earn money from your sites a few years ago but after invention of many popup blockers and firefox browser, they are kind of history now but still few websites use them. Anyone here still use them? If yes then how are the results? Thanks in advance for any response.:innocent:

I hate pop ups so I never use them, too annoying. And I think most people will not even click on a pop up.

the clickthrough on any popups I have done on my sites have actually had a fairly nice click through ratio.

Problem is, so many people block them, I don't get enough impressions to really make it worthwhile.

I think Layer Ads beat popups as it can't be easily blocked

I earn $x,xxx/month with popups. You just need good traffic volume.

You'd be surprised at how many people are still using IE 6.0 (like 80% of myspace users) with no pop blocker.

Sure there are plenty people buying new PCs every year and sure a lot of them have browsers with pop-blockers pre-installed. But the majority of people still have PCs that are at least 1 to 2 years old. Not everyone buys a new computer every year

Don't make rash decisions based on emotions. Get the facts. Google analytics is your friend.

I used them about 9 - 12 months ago and the results were actuall alright. I was earning around $3 - $4 CPM on average and one popunder were being shown per every 1 unique visitor so that it didn't annoy them. I still took them off the site though.
