Hey there, I'm curious here.. ever since ShoeMoney killed it with ringtones, it's been a fairly popular item to work with. I was just wondering, I've read posts that the effectiveness of ringtones is down. (In an interview with shoemoney on a blog/forum)
How many people still work with ringtones ingeneral? Is it your main focus?
We still have a number of affiliates generating significant volume on ringtones, so the trend isn't dead by any means.

Yeah, that's what I was mostly after in an answer. It makes sense for sure. PPC is overloaded with a crazy amount of competition for ringtones, due to the popularity. I've been working the SEO end of it for about a month now and have been pulling in a decent revenue..
Ringtones were a hot novelty, but novelties wear off (especially when word gets around the highschools and whatnot about kids getting charged for those 15 complimentary ringtones they signed up for). Just because demand is decreasing, though, doesn't mean there isn't money to be made. There are still people out there making money off of laser discs. But I would use caution and your own instincts before putting serious money into something like this.
Organic is another story. No affiliate manager is going to tell you that ringtones are a bad idea because the network gets paid regardless of whether or not you profit. Every day some new kid reads shoemoney's blog and decides they're going to get rich off ringtones and then drives your CPC up with their PPC bidding on their Fischer Price "My First AdWords Account".
There's still money to be made in ringtones, but personally I'd rather find the NEXT big thing or focus on the offers that others don't find enticing. I've made 20x (literally) as much with those "unattractive" offers as I ever made off ringtones.

I agree completely Rob. Although, it's definitely easier said then done.
Amen to that. Last "big thing" I found, another affiliate jumped on it a few weeks later and I had to burn his house down while he slept. Learned PHP in jail though, so it was semi worth it.

great tips... the reason the things like tones and even Blockbuster get leaked out is because the big players are starting to make less so they say why not throw out a bone.

Well why even bother pushing it yourself when you can blog it, get huge amounts of inbound traffic to your blog (specifically to that post), increase your reader base, and make 2% off every person who signs up to try this "ringtone" thing themself via the referral link to Azoogle in your post? Again, someone getting paid regardless of whether or not the individual affiliate profits.

The ringtone Market is still lucrative, the key is finding the right offers that convert well and earn a good epc, to many people look for an offer that pays out a huge amount but fail to realize that conversion is also key.
If one offer pays out $20 people jump all over it, even if it converts at 4% while one at $10 might convert at 12% which in the end the lower paying offer makes more.
when I first started online they were big and i made a truckload of money...now i have switched to niche marketing and I checked them out, they have sort of died off and lost interest.
don't think you can do as good with them now. Remember making money online is all about having the hungry market there. WIthout a hungry market you will fail. So am I saying that you will fail if you get into this.,.....NO WAY!
Im just saying this market in not as hungry nowadays. But i guess its is also testing and finding out what the hottest ringtone is and go with that.
