I saw how much people I've known and respected for a long time were making and thought "eh... they're no smarter than me. I can do it too!".

And I did

Testing niches first with traffic that I currently have. Then it's just fine tuning to get people to buy/signup. But I always believe you need to believe in the products you are pushing.

For me it was a progression. Starting out in 2000 generating leads online for my offline telecom company, then I began buying some websites, then I began to develop my own, then I began to dabble in affiliate marketing, and so on.

I began promoting my Foreclosure buying site for my own leads. And eventually someone told me others would pay me for leads as well and years of my life got consumed from there.

I heard a lot of people saying that they have earned money by placing ads on their site. I never believed into it initially but I tried it once, i signed up with bidvertiser and I am earning a lot from them.

I almost lost my breath when I first heard that people earn so much by IM. That's when I decided to test myself in here. I succeeded and earn my living now.

After that i start making money from it and I can tell you that this is a words that I never forget in my life.

I was hired by a friend of a friend to do some programming on his IM sites. I saw the $$$ geing generated and thought .oO{" If HE can make this money and know nothing about the web, then I, a programmer, surely can make gazillions "}.

Boy was I wrong! Being a programmer/geek doesn't mean you can get rich in IM, knowing the tech side of things is NOT a guaranteed success formula.

Then I met another successful IMer who needed programming help. But this time instead of exchanging my talents for money, I asked him to teach me the basics .. which he did. The best Pro-Bono work I ever did.

Good luck,
Dylan

From purchasing a computer and then learning html and other web designing stuff and programing and then found out about affiliate programs when I needed to monetize my finished site that I designed.

Once I had started making some money I wanted to learn much more about this stuff and here I am today.

DealDotCom's opening got me thinking. I started a blog for myself and online friends. Take a look.

Computer Advice Today I know, it's yucky. But I"m not focusing on it right now.

It was a complete flook for me. I had a web site that I put up for a users group. One of the members suggested I add Adsense to cover the hosting cost. I made enough the first month to pay for the server for a year.

Next, I was introduced to a gentleman who was selling a new course that appealed to my particular audience. He sent me a free copy and I liked the course enough that I suggested to him that I would put together a group to work through the course and apply what we learned. He encouraged me to do so and suggested I sign up for his affiliate program. I did and made several thousand bucks, so I did the workshop for my group without cost.

It's a nice way to start!

I was selling for one affiliate offline and decided to use a domain I had, to try it online as well. From there I applied to be an affiliate for other companies, the next thing I knew, I had to figure out how to get it all up and running fast. I now have 98 stores and services in my mall (site). I don't know how much I'll make from it, but it seems as convenient as going to a real mall. That's all I was really trying to do.
