Hi everyone. Just stoping by to ask for some help on chooseing some prizes for our affiliate contest. Anyone have any ideas. We are looking at an IPOD for the christmas contest with a $10 Music Card. But I need some other ideas. What would people like to win, just remember that are affiliates are all over the world and I need to keep it something anyone can use. Thanks for the help.

I had a similar problem to this not too long ago when I obtained items like an ATX computer case, a new motherboard, a CD burner, and several other things to give away.

At first I thought that it was great that I was given that stuff for free, but then I realized that it significantly limited the amount of people I would get interested in the event which was exactly the opposite thing I wanted to do.

Recently I have taken the time to think of items that I know my members will like and be able to use without the need for them to buy more stuff in order to use what I gave to them. In fact, I have a post about it here if you want to check it out for some ideas.

So basically, things like MP3 players, USB data travelers, monitors (If you have the budget!) and gift cards are a few good ideas to give away since anyone can get use out of them.

We have been looking along those lines and just wanted to find out from people if they would like this kind of stuff. If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know.

It really depends on your products/programs. Webmaster-Talk had awesome prizes that pulled in webmasters. What prizes did they use that really grabbed us? I'd say the development software packages, and the advertising credits for advertising programs. The rest was just extra candy that of course we could use for our sites and site building.

One of the other winners had thought of using the nintendo ds lite they received as a prize to create a contest on their site. Their site being a 'how to win at chess' site. But didn't know how they could do it. I looked on ebay, and the ds lite has a game out just for learning chess! It was cheap too, around $15. I said, by combining the 2 they would have an awesome prize to give out that's directly related to their site topic.

I think if you put yourself in your traffic's shoes, and ask the question of 'what would I want or need?' then you can figure out very good prizes for your contest that will draw in the traffic you want.
