Just thought this would be a good topic and am curious about how
everyone got into the biz.

What were you doing before you got started doing affiliate marketing?
Did you have a J.O.B. and quit to do this full-time? Do you still have
a J.O.B? Do you do AM from home or have an office?

So, how about you???

I was working for an Internet company before I got involved with Affiliate Marketing.

When I was working with the Internet company, I got interested in how it all worked and the company went downhill and I was then made redundant.

After that I then learn't HTML on the Web and started making a simple site, which I kept on modifying it and learning new things every day. I then found out about affiliate programs which interested me and I learnt about them plus I was still learning about HTML at the same time.

A few months down the line a then learn't PHP and MySQL and here I am now. I have 4 websites, which are within my sig. I write them all my self from what I have learnt using NotePad. I didn't use programs like Frontpage or Dreamweaver. I just used notepad and the keyword while referring to one or two tutorials while doing it. But now I have been doing webdesigning for nearly free years now I find that doing HTML and PHP is just like counting to 10.

Hey John, I've seen your affiliate directory before. Nice site! Good to hear how you got started!

Well here's how I got started...

I had my own SEO company, then became VP of Marketing for a company,
took another position as eCommerce manager for an online retailer. I
started their affiliate program on CJ, then decided I wanted to manage
lots of affiliate programs and help lots of affiliates instead of being
stuck in a company doing the same program every day.

Quit my job, started my own Affiliate Management Consulting Company and
here I am consulting for & helping to oversee 15 affiliate programs and
supporting over 10,000 affiliates. Now I'm working out of my home 12
hours a day, 7 days a week and making six figures in my PJ's! (I never
bother to get dressed unless I need to leave the house.) NO boss, NO
commute, NO office politics - just helping lots of people make money
with affiliate marketing and loving every minute of it!

How about the rest of you???

When you say you are making a six figure income, is that in a annually or monthly?

Also how long have you been doing business online for yourself?

I have been doing it for nearly 3 years now, but I'm only making a 4 figure income on a monthly basis.

It's enough to live on, but I would like more. The more I make the more I can put back into the business and the quicker I can grow.

But I know my futures looking bright as I only started earning from my business at the start of this year. The first 2 years was a little rough as I was new to the affiliate marketing concept and I was trying new things out all the time.
