Hi,

I added Google adsense to my forums Yesterday, with 30,000 unique visits a month, how much on average should I be looking to generate through an affiliate programme such as Google Adsense?

At a guess, I am thinking $20 a month?

but it will in the range of Nothing to Something. and based on the average earnings I have seen of Adsense on forums it will be closer to nothing.

I don't own a forum myself so this is not from personal experience but I know a few people who do have one. The Adsense CTR and revenue varies widely from forum to forum. It will depend a lot on the topic and how tightly focused your ads are to the topic. One friend of mine earns an Adsense check maybe twice a year, another one gets one every month but her's is very focused on a lucrative niche where people are looking for information.

The adverts do seem quite focused and despite 25,493 page views Yesterday, they only received 7 clicks earning $0.34.

Not even worth it, they'll soon be getting disabled.

It's all depend on CPC, CTR and page impression. These thing calculate par add click rate then google share it.

Unique hit's does not mean anything actually. The most important thing is targeted keyword traffic. Does not matter where the traffic comes from. It's important though that it is targeted traffic. Cause targeted traffic = conversions = sales and clicks what ever program you are using.

There is also garbage traffic. No usage of them except they eat you bandwidth that brings more costs.

If you are getting 30k uniques a month and hope for $20 then there is a serious problem in your monetization strategy. On some of my websites I earn nearly $.2/visitor. It is all about increasing conversions

You would probably do better with an affiliate program that has products pertaining to your niche. Perhaps sports jerseys or the like.

adsense on forum is very low earning. you luck when you get $20 as you guess.

Being involved in affiliate marketing is one of the most desirable ways to make multiple sources of income only when you maximize your revenues. My guess 1s $30 to $60

Sending 30 000 Unique Quality hits to an niche affiliate, Depending on the quality of your traffic and target market you should be earning something much much higher then $20. Google adsense isn't the money maker and you will have no Resisual income. I can relate to your 30 000 unique hits monthly, although I would need to put many of my websites together to be equal to that amount.

Let me break it down

30 000 / 25 = 1200

1200 Free Members / 25 = 48

48 Paid members x 35 = 1680 Dollars

You would definitely early around $1680 USD dollars your first month or 2 and all that is Resisual income. If you maintain a year of sending traffic to a decent provider then you will watch that number grow off the charts.

We have tried Adsense as well as linking directly to books on Amazon. Amazon worked much better since we were able to link directly to individual books. We generated $3,600 for every 10,000 people we sent to Amazon. Of course I don't know what your site is about and how many of your visitors are interested in books.

It would depend. It would be best if you found some advertisers to have banners/links placed on your site for X amount per month. Because of a failing economy you will notice Google cutting back on payouts for Adsense. Adsense is an OK way to make money if you many visitors. But if that fails try and find some advertisers for your website?

It all depends on your site content that the way you used google ads. You should learn the appropriate way to use google ads to have high conversion rates using good tutorials which you can easily get over net by searching goole in form of e-books. If you use good technique I think u can make upto $1000 per month by those 30k unique visitors not mere $20 !!!!!

Forum 's CTR is extremely low in my opinion.But if you have great keywords with high bid, maybe you can make over $100 with about 100 clicks

To give you an idea... I have a pretty low CTR of 3,25%. I earn about U$S180 per month and have 50.000 visitors montly. That is a site in another language, and take into account that forums have a less clickthrough rate such as many people posted here...

I think you should at least earn around $1500 a month. I am getting 10000 unique clicks and earning around $800-900 a month.
