Hey All,

So as my post title might lead you to believe, I'm finally going to try and be a serious affiliate marketer. When I say serious, I'm talking about actually putting in some real effort and time into trying to make things pay off. So yeah, cheer me on!

I'm actually looking for advice more then the cheers (but those are nice!). I know there are quite a few great marketers who are on these forums and I would love advice as to what to do to help increase my earnings. I figure you might need to know what I'm currently doing so, here it is:

Pretty much nothing!

I posted a few blog entries awhile back which pick up some very targeted traffic organic traffic and those make a good $100 to $200 sometimes $300 worth of commissions every month. Beyond that, I've looked into PPC advertising but haven't done anything with that yet. Honestly other then a few word of mouth/email referrals as a consultant a good 95% of all the commissions I've ever made have been through those few blog posts.

So I'm ready to really try and do something with this, I've read about and have been tempted to try PPC affiliate advertising, but I'd like to learn more about techniques people use, perhaps programs that convert well in those situations.

Basically any advice you all can give me would be greatly appreciated! My first goal is going to be to hit $500 by October 31st.

Find a program that doesnt have a problem converting and that pays well. Those are the two must haves in any program. Then do a test drive with ppc to see what works.

Thanks for the information roberts. I do understand the needs of any program that is going to make me a profit, however I'm really interested in tips people might be able to give me in identifying them?

Maybe any programs that people have done well with, networks I should look into? I'm currently on CJ, and Linkshare, as well as ShareASale but I honestly don't like that one as much.

Hi, welcome on board! Yes, an internet marketer must be a serious marketer.

First, think about what you'd like to do, like promoting products at affiliate networks, eg. clickbank, cj, amazon, etc, or to find a superior company with a great affiliate program to promote, or create squidoo lenses, blogs to earn adsense ads commissions.

Find something that fits you best and then work out a plan. It's a tough job, maybe it's better to start work instead of thinking about $$.

yeah.. like i do in the past. i always thinking about $$ but nothing i get. now i start to be more wise that hard work is first important to get succeed.

If "a few blog posts" are earning you upwards of $300 per month without doing anything else, I'd say you either have a winning product, great content or both. Why not continue with that, at least at first? You already know the product sells so try writing some articles and submitting them to directories as a start. Continue adding some content into your blog, targeting more keywords for increasing search engine traffic. If you want to work with a new product, create a new blog and see if you can duplicate your success.

you must first build a user-friendly website, which will appeal to your prospects and encourage them to click on the links to the products and service you are promoting and make a purchase.
