Hi all,
I am advising my friend on their website. They sell buttons during xmas to help with the bills (the husband has become disabled). These are the "It's ok to wish me a merry xmas" buttons. They got good PR last year and hopefully it will hold true this year.
I was telling them about possibly starting an affiliate program. And pointed them to share a sale because I thought it might be a decent program to go with them for their need.

The question is, do you think this is something affiliates will jump on this season. If so, how do I get it out to affiliates, let them know, and get them signed up?

OR
should I tell them to not try this year. Share a sale cost them about 650 in setup and they are concerned that it might not be worth it. They made about 25,000 in sales last year (maybe 50,000) but that was without online advertising. Just some news reports and pr.

Any ideas?

It's probably a bit late in the day for getting affiliates in time for Christmas this year, You need to be starting in July/August to be hitting the December sales period.

The problem with seasonal products and affiliate programs are the monthly fees, many programs (Share a Sale included) charge the vendor a monthly fee if sales do not reach a minimum value, so for a product such as this you could find it gets expensive during the "off period".
