Affiliate Marketing Tycoon

Thought this may be of use to others, as well as myself...

I'm just starting out trying to make a little cash through promoting affiliate programs. What would those of you who make a fair amount of money from it recommend us newbies do to start the ball rolling?

Admittedly I have no advertising funds, so I can't plough straight into Adwords or anything!

All tips/advice greatly appreciated!

Right!

First things first is that you can't use Adwords, so thats out of the question.

Do you have any web designing knowledge.

If so then I would suggest that you build a good looking site and add alot of content to it and then integrate some of your affiliate links into the site. Don't add to many affiliate links to each page of your site, add only a few.

If you can't do that, then you could join a few 2-tiered programs and tell people about them so that they join under you and you can then earn from their earnings.

I've had a few ideas abut building a good content site, and will have a go at starting soon

I'd be best to have the content good before applying to relevant affiliate programmes right?

Remember to focus your site on a specific keyword or keyphrase. It should be related to the product of the merchant that you're promoting.

Get a domain name that contains that phrase. Put that phrase on your meta tags. Populate your content with that phrase but don't overdo it. Make it flow as naturally as possible.

Then submit the site to the search engines and watch out for it in 3 to 4 months.

Yeah it is best to have your site fully functional and full of content making it sticky. This is because if you join a few of the larger affiliate programs then some of them can be quite hard to get into and they may take a look at your site and if you don't have much content at the time then you could not get approved.
