How many clicks average I need per day/month at least in order to make some money through affiliate programs by putting links or banners on my website? What is your experience here?

Many thanks for your help!

Usually I get about $5-$10 per 1000 visitors from context ads.

There are many factors to calculate income from ads:
1. How much do you get from the ad
2. Is it relevant for your page and for your visitors
3. Does it have good visibility on the page
4. Are there many links on your page that user can use to leave it

You can get income from several users per month using text ads but it will be only several cents or dollars.

You should put ads on your site if you are not afraid to lost your visitors and experiment with them.

Yes, I get more or less the same, but it really depends on the kind of traffic you get. If you're getting only average surfers, you can expect to earn around $1 per 1000 visitors, however, if you get highly targetted traffic (say you have a site about webhosting), you can make as much as $100-$500 per 1000 visitors.

This is a VERY general answer. Good affiliate programs should convert at 1 sale out of 100 WELL TARGETED clicks. A good program with higher than avg. order size and good payouts may net you $25. So that would be $250 per 1,000 clicks.

However lead based financial programs like loans and ins can sometimes make a lot more than per sale programs. It really depends on your existing site and the type of traffic you attract. The traffic needs to be well targeted to what you are trying to promote.
