Hello
New to affiliate marketing .. I have signed up with linkworth linkshare clickbank and admanage. I run 2 websites . One with 100 visitors daily while the second website is too new ) Ads are placed via text links and banners on both websites. Ads have been in place for 10 days or so . I sent out a newsletter the other day with the ads in place . Is this a decent way to promote stuff? Not all of my ads are of the same kind of products .. How do YOU do it ?

The ads look weird. As if the images have been resized to fit in different shaped areas. Also you might want to consider trying different ads other then for watches. What else does your audience buy besides watches? Perhaps sunglasses? Briefcases? Laptop bags? iPhone/phone/palm device cases? Spy gear?

Don't be afraid to branch off a little from what your site specifically relates too. For example I have a few blogs about skateboarding and other board sports. I can still advertise cool sunglasses, skateboard shoes, booze, dating sites, paintball guns, etc. Just get into the mind of your audience, and once you've got some good ideas find some programs that would make you want to buy from them. After that make sure the ads are enticing enough for people to click on them and hope your affiliate put as much effort into making a sale as you.

The specific banner he was talking about doesn't even have a link.

Actually, watches are a good niche and if that what your site is about- stick to it.
However, to my opinion you have too many ads in your site. Try to reduce the number. 2 or 3 of them will do the work.
Invest a little bit more time on the site's design. You can make it look more professional- the homepage is much longer then the content, some of the ads are not even in English etc.

I'm not saying that he needs to abandon the watch ads, but if he mixes it up with some different items he might have better success converting sales. You can show me 20 ads for watches, but if they all link to the same affiliate program and that program doesn't convert well it isn't why promote it with more than one or two ads. Perhaps there is an affiliate that sells watches and other items which would provide a chance at conversions on other items also.

Generally I'm a lot more likely to click an ad and purchase something if the referring link took interest in the advertiser.

I would suggest getting maximum number of visitors to your site, Use a good PPC or advertise on other similar sites...
100 Visitors a day is nothing, you need visitors in thousand only then you can expect a good decent amount of earnings..

I agree, you need many visitors a day to sell products from a websie !

But how to do that, most pay per click campaigns I have tried only deliver a few hits a day.
