From my experience having a website for promoting affiliate product is not only the solution, but you must have a unique as well as seo ready website. Plus if you can integrate affiliate products in such a way that a visitor to your webiste never came to know he is surfing an affiliate website is a plus point and can convert a visitor to a buyer.

You can even get good profits by marketing the affiliate links on the blogs; however you can earn better if you have a website. A website provides with a better platform to market the affiliate links.

Most especially if you want to use Google Adwords, it is better to have a website. Google will only display one Adwords advert per keyword per site. If some many people are linking to the same website on a particular keyword, only one Adwords advert will be displayed by Google. The chance that it will be yours is remote.

yes, it necessary.

if you want to go far with your affiliate marketing you should have one website at least! so that you can promote well the product there, but make sure it is interactive and nice webbie.

Well, i also thin that website is not necessary for affiliate marketing, you can easily work on facebook or other social media networks. however, if you make money with file-sharing affiliate programs, it's better to have your site or blog for better link promotion!
