Affiliate who is trying to attract merchants

I am the owner of a web site that is trying to attract merchants to sell their products on my site. I am acting as a clearinghouse (aggregator) of all similar types of products, although I will not keep any inventory or ship orders myself. Merchants who I attract will post text links and photos for their products on my site and shoppers who click through will be taken back to their site.

I am looking for anyone who has used a turnkey software package and is satisfied with all of its capabilities to accurately track click-throughs and returns to merchants shopping carts that result in sales. Report capability is important too. It seems that almost everything I look at is for merchants who are trying to find affiliates. My situation is the reverse. Does that make sense??

Makes perfect sense.

Are you going to charge a commision on each sale, or just charge them a set amount to list their products on your site? If you are just going to charge them to list on your site, you wouldn't really need that kind of tracking program.

I am hoping to charge commissions so I need t track. Fall back position would be a listing fee but I would rather take an active role in selling, promoting, marketing merchants products since I am a Human Resource professional and understand content.

It seems there is some risk in trying to add special merchant coding to shopping cart. Unscrupulous merchants might remove code to avoid commissions. If there is a fail-safe way I would like to hear about it, or any other suggestions from experts.
