Hi

I am new to the board and would like some advice from some experienced affiliates. I have been asked to manage I site we have developed at www.motorflirt.com and would like to introduce an affiliate program to the site.

It would probably have to be a CPA arrangement which would involve a registration page, confirmation and WorldPay CC payment.

Could anyone recommend an affiliate program/company, and advise if there is a decent proposition here for affiliates.

Thanks

ClickXChange is quite reliable, and offers CPM, CPC, and CPA affiliate solutions. I believe it's possible to start an account with them for only $500 + service fees.

Commission Junction is another option. The fees there are very high, and they only offer CPA programs, but they have a lot of potential affiliates.

Hi Tonic,

I have some great advise for you:-

If you go down the route of using affiliate providers make sure that the registration is set up based on PAID by card registrations only No Free registrations. Do not under any circumstances give Free membership (like you currently have available) under an affiliate program.

The reason for this is that we have recently ditched two major affiliate scheme providers (i wont say who they were here but you can sticky me for more info) because they are more agro to run than they were worth. First off you get a lot of dross sites, low PR sites and blogs etc that will bring you little traffic (for every 100 affiliates, you may get a few OK ones) and second, more importantly certain con men are out to try to scam you and do it via some schemes. For example. They will set up a webpage with your info on and link it to sites where people are paid all day to fill out website registration forms. They even provide unlimited number of email address accounts for these people to use. So for example someone in say Poland may be paid 20p an hour to submit registrations to loads of sites that the employee is affiliated to. Hence if you pay per click or pay per registration you end up paying for a pile of cr@p. It takes you a while to establish whats going one.

We picked up on this because we had 5 affiliates via the two schemes (2+3) that had higher traffic than the majority and we were able to establish via our logs where the sign up traffic was from . Also if you pay to much per sign up you also attract chancers that will run pay per click adverts on your behalf in the hope of converting sign ups and making profit from your scheme.

At the end of the day, we dont wish to put you off affiliate schemes but you need to be aware of the risks. I guess if you sell a product at a high cost and you give a commission based on sales only then these schemes may work. But for you unless you set it up based on a commission only for the Paid members you get it could cost you.

Good luck to you, hope this post helps

If your looking for low startup fees then Shareasale would be an option to consider as well.
