Definately go with clickbank. Easy to get started and HUGE selection of products. The down side is that the search feature is pure #$%^! but other than that it is good.

There are a few products availiable that offer better search functionality for clickbank products, but they cost money.

If you signup for clickbank to promote products I can whole heartedly offer one suggestion for a product for you to promote, mine.

Might want to also consider joining in on some 2-tier affiliate programs where you get paid on the performance of your sub-affiliates - has done wonders for me

There are plenty of affiliate programs listed at http://www.affiliateseeking.com

I have found some of the networks to be good, as they consolidate your different merchants earnings into one large check, which gets paid every month if you reach the minimum payout.

I would recommend searching for your keywords in the large networks everyone is mentioning ( www.cj.com www.shareasale.com and www.clixgalore.com are perhaps the largest) AND in the various directories (www.affiliateranker.com www.affiliateguide.com and www.associateprograms.com )

If you only search ONE network, you are much less likely to find the "right program", simply because you are limiting the number of programs you are choosing from.

Most affiliate directories list programs from the affiliate networks, so if you find your favorite directory, you might not have to look further.

CJ is no good to any affiliate if you know that you can't produce at least 1 sale in every 6 months period. If you don't then your account will be closed and you will have to remove all your links or signup to CJ again and replace all your existing affiliate id's with the new ones.

AffiliateBot has been around for ages and I have never really seen nothing much in that program.

I agree with anton in preferring multi-tier programs rather than getting paid only bye PPC for example. Also, there are some programs that pay you through CPA AND revenue share...thing I consider extremely beneficiary and with lots of earning potential.

I can recommend my choice...if you want....

I agree with anton, even further. Try multi-tier programs were you don't only get paid by affiliate referred and it's actions, but you also can arrange the combo you need so as to boost your affiliate program's strategy...

if you want to promote a product, i think you should have a good website relating to that subject.
also most of the vendors dont approve you based on country and other such criteria.

clickbank is very easy because of many reasons:
1) you dont need to have any website
2) you can promote over 5000 high demand products immediately after joining you dont need any approval from vendors.
3) affiliate links are very simple to remember and use.
4) all are downloadable products. so you will receive commission in your account within minutes after the payment is made.
and there are many more benefits...

I have always done well with ShareASale and Linkshare. I am not 100% sure how good the financial affiliate programs are in these 2 networks, but I have come accrossed a few in them while searching for other topic programs for my own sites.
