I wish to use an affiliate network to promote one or more of my websites. Which would you recommend?

My budget will be relatively small, about $500 per month.

I would be doing a pay per sale program.

Go for AdWords or Overture.

the only one I know of that is really well endorsed is CJ. (commission junction) but it's very expensive, $2500+ to get started I belive.

it is endorsed and used by both Yahoo and eBay though, so it says something about the integrity of the company, IMO.

You might want to check out Clickbank! If you write articles and you enjoy that.

Then make a folder save your articles. Group them accourding to revelance.
Put 10,20,50 in a group and sell them you can get 5-10 $ each for them. Don't send crap. Sent well written articles. Have a sample that you give to a webmaster free. Before you know it you'll be in big demand and making mucho bucks.

If you are doing pay-per-sale, why is your budget set so low? If you only pay a percentage on actual sales, the risk of "loosing" money on your program is eliminated.

Instead, find a merchant (my best guess would be www.glixgalore.com) that offers low start-up fees, and a low "minimum deposit" to get started. But, be sure to use their "auto-deposit" feature so you don't miss out on affiliates due to inactive or empty account.

On a pay-per-sale program - unlike pay-per-click, where you are not sure of the outcome for each click - you should always try to maximize the amount of affiliates and thus your sales and commissions paid.

If you have a digital product ( not physical ), then clickbank is a very good choice.

The fee is only $49.95 if you wish to join as a vendor, and you will have the advantage of 100000 affiliates who may promote your site.

you dont need to spend much on advertising.

I am an affiliate of ShareASale and have always found them to be the best. I don't know what they are like for the merchant side of things, but guess they would be the same or similar to what the affiliate side of things are like. I am not sure how much it costs though and even if you only have $500 budget, what about if an affiliate makes a few thousand sales a month. lol

What's the nature of the product? If its a downloadable product, as suggested go for Clickbank. If its a physical product then opt CJ. If its a service Adwords may be a good idea.

I would also endorse clickbank.com as the choice to go with. I actually promote a lot of product from there and make the largest portion of my income from the products I promote from there. Your product would have to be a members website or a digital product though.

You could also look into pay per click advertising on google and yahoo marketing since clickbank will not really take up any of your budget. There is a lot of good information out there about how to use ppc to create sales.

Good luck and if you use clickbank let me know i might promote your product for you.

Benjamin

There are over 100 affiliate networks here: http://www.affiliateseeking.com/netwo/23000002/1.html

These are written more to the publisher though, but most of them can set you up with an affiliate program type of thing that is done on pay per sale.

I would personally suggest to go either with ShareASale, Linkshare or CJ. Clickbank I have not got much experience with them.

I have no merchant experience with neither of them, but have good affiliate experience with the ShareASale and linkshare. I prefer shareasale and alot of affiliates also like them.

I think ShareASale is probably the least talked about network on the internet when it comes to bad experiences which is good.

Don't you want to install affiliate software on your server, so that you could run your own affiliate program?

Would clickbank work for promoting a directory? Would the sign-up to a directory be considered delivering a digital product?
