I was wondering how the Standard Internet TextLinks program is doing on your site?

I like the setup you have.

Actually I saw the idea of using links like that on other sites and modified it for my needs... at least I can sleep easy knowing that I'm not making money out of my visitors without their knowledge.

Thing is it isn't making me very much as I don't have many "real" visitors to the site (it's mainly bots or offline browsers that account for most of the page views if I've interpreted my logs correctly)... perhaps when things pick up a bit I'll have a better CTR, but until that time I'm making more money with the SearchTraffic program... perhaps because my selected phrases aren't what they are looking for.

I might see about tailoring the sponsored links a bit more by taking a look at the page in question and then adding terms more relevant to the topic (dynamically of course)... that might up the clickthrough rate a bit... something to try I guess.

Just thought I'd post a follow up...

Seams like I've had a change of fortunes so far this month, as my Textlinks account is outperforming the SearchTraffic account. Not sure why this is, but I've seem to have gotten a better results now that I've targetted the words I used at the bottom of the page based on the topic a little more.

I still need to spend more time at it, but I'm currently working on a new resources section (i.e. that section on books I never got around to finish) - between working on the next SitePoint article/guide.

For anyone using the program, I suggest you use keywords that your visitors are looking for (which can mean quite a bit of work on your part). I didn't bother checking the values, just make sure they are common enough to get someone to pay the 12c needed to qualify the links... fortunately, in my case it is pretty easy as there is enough competition to make a high proportion of keywords valuable enough to qualify.

Well, I started with TextLinks maybe a couple of weeks ago. I also got the idea from a site I liked, signed up from there too.

It took some work, but I did the search for words and checked to see if they had 12 cent qualifier. I added the text links that were "related" to my site. Now, it's time to see what's gonna' happen.
