Whats happened to Adsense?

Hi all,

I have been with Adsense for over six months now and I have it on both of my sites. But this month I have seen a big drop in the amount the I earn per click thru and now over the last few days I have even seen a large amount of Service Ads showing on pages that I have never seen them before.

The worst thing is, is that both of my sites are in a popular industry where you normally see high bidded keywords. In other words, my sites are based on web hosting, scripts, ppc search engines, affiliate programs, advertising, etc. So why am I receiving service ads?

Is it because Adsense has lost alot of advertisers or is it something else that may have caused this?

Do you know if I need to change the Adsense code that I am using as I am still using the old script code so I have not got the line of code in the script where you can choose whether to show image or text ads on your site. Do I need to update my code or will it be alright as it is?

Hope you all can reply and help me out.

Thanks!

Hello,

You can set an alternative ad-provider on the google website, its fairly easy.

Just login into adsense, and set the html page where your alternative banner code is. for example http://www.yoursite.com/altbanner.html

in that html file you put the code for the alternative banners

The html code tool at adsense will give you a new code which you need to reinsert into your site.

Thats it, no more public google ads!

So could I sign up to something like Clicksor, which I think is similar to Adsense and use them for my alternative banner ads, or will that not work.
