Hi everyone,

I've been searching the web for quite some time for a proper shoutbox in ASP, and all I keep finding is only PHP shoutboxes (really nice ones, too).
Does anyone know of a shoutbox in ASP that is worth checking out?

What's a "shoutbox" ?

A shoutbox is basically like a chat room/forum feature, where uers can leave quick messages for other users without the need for forum software.

Thats the best I can explain it.

probably just a fairly simple AJAX type of thing then.

does it need to store messages or is it just an instantaneous kind of thing with just the last x amount of messages shown?

I think they display a certain amount of messages. However I haven't really had a look at them tbh, not a big fan on them.

But it might be a interesting little exercise in coding, and make another occasional code article for me

I haven't been able to find a free one. They all seem to be paid ones for ASP. Here is a tutorial for a simple one http://www.toxiclab.org/tutorial.asp?ID=41. But I am not sure how good it is.
