Hello,

I send weekly html newsletters regarding my web site. Is there a way I can know how many people read them? Is there any code I can add to the html page of the newsletter?

Thanks for your help

it depends.

Is the newsletter emailed directly?
Is it online and you email a link to subscribers?
Is it a hosted package you use to send it?
Do you mail it yourself from a local machine?
Are the subscriber mainly using webmail services?

plus there are more things that may affect tracking.

The newsletter is a HTML file which sits on the server. First, I change the message text and then I send it using Outlook Express as an Internet page. Is it possible to add ASP code so when the user opens an email it will send me an automatic email? Is there a better way to send and to track newsletter emails?
Thaks for your quick reply.

Nope. ASP has to run on a server.

One tracking method is to have an image referenced in the email located on a server and read the server logs to see how many times it is accessed.

You could request a "read receipt" for each message.
