Don't know if this has been done or if it is possible, I want to use an sql trigger to "tickle" an AJAX script to respond to client to update the page when there is information added to database. Any ideas?

Nope, you would have to implement it in reverse. The triggered UDF sets a flag in a table that your client script checks periodically.
