HI All

Im currently building a form into my web site. Its for customers to fill in to indicate their web site requirements. Like an order form. So asks various questions, including persnal details. (I dont think im that good to charge anyone yet, and havent officially launched my site - so im thinking of using this this for some prospective clients that have already shown me interest - to build my portfolio)

I have only experiance in using HTML and use Dreamweaver to execute my websites, now i find out that unless you the 'maito' method i will have to go ASP. Something new to learn!!! Also this is the best way for the server we have. Ive now re-configured my site, have my testing site on and everything is configured to be 'dynamic'. yay!

Anyway im trying to get my head round all the scripting. Seeing as dreamweaver makes you lazy on html scripting ive now limited knowledge on HTML & I understand this is VB scripting?

Now I create my form in an .asp page - I take it you can use the same form i created, so i have just made it .asp??????

Then i have to set up a series of commands that 'pull' this data into a form and then email to me, then display a thank you page.

thats where im getting stuck

ive looked for ASP tuts on the web, but they arnt many user friendly ones i can find. Can any of you help me or point me in the right direction? Id love to et the full potential of ASP as it lok like i could do some fun stuff!

Thanks for your help!!
(didnt link to my site on -dont know if im allowed?)

One bit of advice, if you're going to learn a server side language, learn ASP.NET. It's properly compiled VB code and has some great features and a lot better architecture than ASP. You can find all you need at www.asp.net

Hi newbie,

You can try various ready made scripts at these script directories: hotscripts.com, aspin.com, sitescripts.com... Never fails to do a little research

Where are you getting stuck? Were you able to get information from the form? Are you having problems sending the actual email? Perhaps you can post a link or code we can see.

Most people that code in ASP use vbscript. One of the first things I did was to learn the language. You will find that you can use it in many environments - even to manage you computer. Here is a good place to start http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en...riVBScript.asp.

If you'd rather try VB.NET see this link http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en...RefTopNode.asp.

I hope this helps.

If I understand your question correctly I would look for a tutorial on CDOSYS.DLL or CDONTS.DLL.

set email = server.createobject(CDO.message) blahblahblah
