Hi all,

Can anyone direct me, I am wanting to develop ASP.net pages In DW 2004 MX, I have set things up but diont think I have done it properly.

I have installed the IIS
I have the Inetpub folder and the wwwroot folders on my C drive with the correct folders inside them.

I am working from a ASP tutorial cd i have with a ASP.net Book, it has some example pages in but whn I go to priview them i get the message..

'To priveiw pages using server-sided code, you need a testing server, would you like to specify 1 now..

I then go to yes, Its the info that i require here that i'm a bit lost with..

Testing Server
1 - Server Model - I have as ASP.net VB
2 - Access Local Network - (is this correct..?)
3 - testing server Folder - i have as - c:\inetpub\wwwroot\
4 - URL Prefix - http://localhost/

Remote Info
1 - I have as none

Local Info
1 - Site name - ASP Test
2 - Local root folder - C:\Documents and Settings\Phil Barker\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX 2004\Configuration\ServerConnections\ASP Test\
3 - default Images Folder - C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\images\
4 - HTTP Address - http://localhost/

Could anyone pls tell me what I have set up wrong and why i'm not able to test one of these ASP.net pages. I dont have a seperate Server/computer i have set my machine up so I can run it as a server. I should be able to setup from Dreamweaver help setup but it gets a bit confusing foing back and forth the multiple pages.

Any help would be appreciated.

With thanks

Phil

In your case, Local Root Folder should probably be C:\InetPub\wwwroot but I'm not sure if that will make a difference. Everything else looks OK.
Are you getting any error message when you try and test a page? What happens when you type in http://localhost into your browser?

Sometimes coders forget to deploy the necessary ASP.net files. Go to Site>Advanced>Deploy supporting files... Let us know if you still can't get the pages to show...
