Can someone point me on how to create a search within a web page that I for example have created.
What are the tools that I need to have and what is best to use.

Can this be done with php or with asp or with...???
IF so ...can you tell me about a link where I can get some info about this ???

Thx

to search within a page press Ctrl+F and it will bring up a dialog box or you could use some javascript.

serverside code such as ASP or PHP cannot search a page once it has been sent to the browser.

He may be talking about a site-wide search a la Google's site-wide search.

Allan, is that what you mean? Are you looking for site-wide search capability?

I mean something like this:

On this first link on the left part it has a place where you can type your zip code and it gives different info depending on what your zip code is.
How can this be done

http://www.cars.com/go/index.jsp

On this second link is the samething but with lists. How can this be done as well.

You would require at least three parts:

1) A server side parser such as php, asp or .NET in order to connect to a database and process the collected information

2) A database (such as mySql) to store information like regions/zones, catagories, product information, etc.

3) Basic javascript for various tasks that make life easier for your visitors (auto selecting drop-down lists, validations, etc.)
