I created a virtual directory in IIS. Now, I don't know how to pull this up in my web browser from another computer.

I have tried:

http://SERVERNAME/virtualdirectoryname

I guess I should try the website name, but I don't know the name of the website....IIS lists it as "default web site" so I don't know how to put that into a URL.

Please help!

Thank you in advance,

http://localhost/ doesn't work?

If not, try the IP of your server or just http://SERVERNAME .

I've tried http://servername/virtualdirectoryname/filename.asp, but that gives me a "page not found" error.

I am using a web browser on another computer, I don't want to use a browser on the server itself.

I tried http://localhost/virtualdirectory/filename.asp, where "localhost" is actualy the word localhost. It didn't work prolly because I am browsing on another computer (I am not browsing on the server itself).

More ideas, please....much appreciated.

have you tried the IP?

are you behind a router with loopback capabilties?

does your network have a DNS server?
