This normally wouldn't be posted in the ASP forum, except that I'm building an ASP-based application that generates Excel spreadsheets on the fly.

I just want to know if anyone has a chart or has seen a chart for the 40 default colours Excel uses in its colour palette. That way, I can colourize my spreadsheets as I see fit.

Thanks.

Does that help?

It might, except that I already found the answer in the meantime (and the site won't load).

My only question now is how I could add padding to the cells themselves. Table cellpadding doesn't work.

I know you already found the answer, but just for reference, you can do a screen capture and paste into photoshop or other graphics program and use the eyedropper tool to sample the color. The color pallete should give you the correct RGB value.

John: I was, but that didn't work. It didn't pad the Excel spreadsheet. It's not a big deal, though. I accomplished most of what I wanted to with the spreadsheets I generated, which is all I ever ask for out of a first try at anything.
