help populating text box input type=file

with input type="text" I can use the value= property to set the default but cant use that to populate the box when input type="file". Anyone know how to do this?

If you can elaborate a little I can probably tell ya ho to do it. We do a lot of file uploads via asp(sometimes multiple at once.)

as far as I know it's not possible to change the value of a "file" input box... because it would be a security risk I assume

It all depends on what you are trying to do. Are you trying to allow users to upload images or files? What is the main funcionality that you are trying to create. There is always a way.

I also have the same need. I run an internet baseball sim. league. And after each series, members have to upload all of the game result files. This can get tedious. I know what each of the filenames are and where they are located, so I'd like to set up a page where the file input boxes are populated with the file names so that the user just has to push one button.
Any ideas?

I had a project that had the some requirement about a year ago. I never figured out how to do it. According to all of the documentation I could find, you can't do it. It's a security precaution.
