I am using microsoft expression web and I have NO ASP experience..

I have created a mySQL database and I am putting news articles in there, I want to be able to scroll new news stories on a page. So I have my database setup but I have no clue how to access the database and have the data show up on the page. I tried using the ASP controls in expression and I inserted a new data source but it only wants to know where a file is and does not give me an option to connect to my database on the server, any clue how I can get this to work?

I don't know how Expression Web works, but ASP is generally best coded by hand.

I haven't tried this before, so I don't know if it will work, but it should at least give you a start.

My boss was asking me to look into Expression. I've already had a peak, and I prefer VS myself, which means writing the code by hand but having intellisense ... but Expression ain't bad.

I wouldn't use it to write asp or aspx code, though.

Adam's link tells you what you need to know to get a running start ... make sure you don't miss the part about My-ODBC.
