I've been running a photography site for years, and in July, I decided to augment it with a web log. I've never had anything to do with blogging before this, so I'd love some feedback. I'm finding the blog is easier to maintain than a Notepad site, and it's starting to take on a life of its own.

http://blog.forrestcroce.com/ uses a wordpress template I've made a bunch of modifications to. Unfortunately, widening the text column isn't possible. I'd love to hear any other suggestions on how I could improve this, though? And what people like about it, things I should expand?

If you click into the posts, almost all of them have a Google map. These take a lot of work, but they seem to be popular. Any thoughts on those grounds?

I'm pretty comfortable with coding, in general, so I really need feedback from a user's point of view? Thanks!

Looks greatForrest. I really like that first photography, i'm thinking of getting a gorilla tripod to take more photo's like that (it seems that all the rivers near where i live are in arkward places to set up a full size tripod)

Love the site. Maybe changing the colour of the header at the top of the blog would be a good idea and also the hover state to something that shows up a bit more.

I've also noticed that if I click on the image in your most recent post, The Boulder River Wilderness, it goes to a not found page.

I haven't much used those ... but you'd be surprised how easy it is to set up a tripod on bumpy rocks. As long as each leg telescopes on its own ( and I think every 'pod I've seen or used does ), you just open them to different lengths until the thing is level. I've been meaning to write some posts with tripod tips ... if you don't mind I think I'll cover this one. It's a really good idea.

Looks good, except the main header text is a bit hard to read, maybe choose a color that sticks out more.

Aside from that, nice blog, those pictures are amazing

Thanks, everyone...!

Nobody mentioned the desert theme on a PNW blog; should I take that to mean it's not an issue? I really love the template, and I've put a lot of work into both customizing it and also sizing most of my photos for its content area.

There's a lot of arid land in the northwest, in fact the Columbia is a desert river for most of it's journey to the ocean. But the weather we're known for is wet! Rain is why that lady was sleepless over here...
