Hi there.

When I started my niche online business last year I decided to complete all the work myself in order to reduce the start-up costs. This included learning graphic design, web-design, digital recording, mastering, printing and much much more

I thought it wouldn't take me long to be able to learn enough basic web-design for my needs. I proceeded to spend countless frustrated hours wondering why the pretty design that I saw on my screen bore absolutely no resemblance to the website when viewed from other computers! If I were to go back and do it again I would have paid for a professional from day-one and saved myself no end of agro!

However, what's done is done and I've reached a point now where I believe the website fulfills most of my needs and I've even been swatting up on SEO recently.

I added a blog to my website and the pages are starting to rank for some pretty awesome search terms- if you type 'cry it out' in Google my website is listed 4th out of 146, 000, 000. Now I know it's competition more than volume of web pages that raises the bar for SEO but I still think it's a fair achievement in only a couple of months of being online. The site also ranks for countless other terms including 'Ferber technique' 'lullaby words' 'personalised lullaby' and hundreds more all directly related to my site.

I am starting to get a lot of traffic and I wondered if anyone would be kind enough to let me know if there's anything I should improve or change about the website and the blog in particular. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Clearly you are trying for the "lullaby" theme but I am not a fan of the way it was done. The stars make it seem like it is sci-fi and frankly it makes the whole blog look a little creepy. I would round the edge a bit on the elements within it, and I would change the background to soothing neutral colors like light yellows, pinks, etc.

The theme isn't bad but I do not like the background color you should change the color of the background and I think the blog would look better if it was center aligned.

you are indeed missing the concept. i don't mean baby looking text font but something is not right between the aim niceh market and the design. I get that the twilight effect has to look like the night, but plain white needs to be softened. Please change the first text one reads to actual subject text, the congratulatory "we have been mentioned" text looks weird with an announcement that no new entries will be put up for a while. Strike while the iron is hot.

Try putting hot sleeping tip # 5 right on the main page, that sweeps your reader right into your content and message.
