Serif fonts are best used for blocks of text, since they're designed to help fluency. Therefore, try a sans-serif font like Helvetica in the header to give it more surface area, increasing its legibility.
The colour scheme within seems very bland and uninteresting. Blue is a good colour for links if you want to maintain consistency between user and browser, however, you can usually have them any colour so long as they're legible and underlined (or made into a button, but don't do that unless it's an interface element, like on a form). Red is a good colour to use as it's link with action.
Try reducing your blocks of text to a couple of lines, as it stands they're too long but their line lengths are too short. As for the text within the pages, keep them between 60 and 80 characters long, with font-size at least 16px and line-height similar (or equivalent in em).
Your form has no legend, what is meant to do? That's what I, and other visitors, wonder, so it would be a good idea to put a title to it (e.g., "Weekly newsletter").
Shunt your disclaimer to its own page, including a privacy policy (your site uses cookies and a form, which record user data (whether the user is aware or not), and therefore must be made aware of your intentions of use and protective measures against misuse).
Good luck with your blog.
