Hi everyone reading this post

I am the President/CEO of Smack3 Studios as well as the lead designer and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new blog, Smack3 Magazine and see what all of you think about it.

We have seen little success thus far with the blog. While we see visitors every day, I wonder if our articles are interesting enough yet to comment? Most of the comments that come through the blog are spam and we delete those of course. In order to reduce spam, we had implemented a Captcha but this reduces how many people want to comment greatly, so we took it away. Suggestions are always helpful. Mind you, the blog has been live for only about 2 1/2 weeks.

We would like the input of our fellow designers & developers about the new blog, Smack3 Magazine as well on a few factors:

1. What is your first impression?
2. Does the design follow trends well or have an interestingly enough design that trends don't matter?
3. Is the content interesting to read and easy to find?
4. Please add your own factors and comments not listed here.

I greatly appreciate anyone who takes the time to review our sites and would like to offer a free custom logo design to the 100th person who signs up for our forum and makes a post to help us get started.

Looks pretty but I'm afraid I saw this as just a company website masquerading as a blog. Okay, to you it's a marketing tool but most visitors will have different expectations of something that presents itself as a blog -- they want news/information/entertainment, not just a list of what your company does. What "bloglike" features you do have are lost amongst the rest. How about less of the company talk and more articles from designers/flash experts (even marketing people, Scott Adams forgive me) on problems faced and how they solved them, tips and tricks on CSS/Flash/general design? A day in the life of your firm? Clients, can't live with them, can't shoot them? ... Whatever such content you have already is lost in the company info.

My first impression was not very impressed with the design..the drop down nav was pretty cool though I gotta learn how to do that! The blog does follow trends it looks like any other site in this niche I agree with PaulW though you should have the front page just your company info and a seperate link for the blog theres nothing wrong with that.. I'm actually doing something similar, I'm using wordpress as a cms but my site is a true blog it focuses on tutorials and free themes. If you could do anything to improve the site it would be to seperate the blog and make a company homepage with a link to your blog somewhere in the nav
