Those errors mean nothing. The site works on the current browsers. The content is changing all the time. Look at yahoo or any of the other busy sites. There have errors too. Look at your site. heh heh -- your SIMPLE blog template isn't complex at all, for those of us who have alot of experience; apparently, you don't know your HTML colors according to this widely used chart

We're not talking about Yahoo errors, nor about my site; we're talking about your smart-*** remarks regarding Adam's work and I pointed out that you're not that great ... just a legend in your mind.

Yeah.. well.. not exactly. Because you're using the <embed> tag for your flash content, you're likely giving lots of IE users fits. Using <embed> will cause IE users to get those nasty little security warnings that they must activate the active content (flash) before it can even be viewed. Two clicks later, if they want to stick around, they'll be able to see your flash. If they don't want to do the 2-click thing, they see NOTHING.. or they leave.
You're using an XHTML Strict doctype, but <embed> is not approved (for any version !) and your code is NOT Strict at all.. and if you think it doesn't matter..well.. it does.

So, no, we're not on 'your level', you're on some OTHER level, but you're not even on the same ladder. Just from that one site you've shown.. that's hardly enough to go on. Let's see 10 more.... even 5 will do.

If I were you, I would add some spacing between posts and get rid of the underlines. I have to agree with some of the others, the design is a tad dated.

I'm sorry if you didn't want to hear that, but when someone reviews a design, they take the "looks" into account too. You shouldn't be offended, people have different tastes. If you like it, then keep it. When you're asking for reviews, you're asking for other people's opinions.

Griffin: I don't get offended by others' comments on aesthetics. Everyone likes different things, and that's fine. My rule of thumb is to go with what the majority thinks, no matter who or where the comments come from. So far, based on the initial feedback, most people are fine with it (only a couple of web-geeks aren't, and well...that's bound to happen.) Besides, you presented your opinion in a reasonable manner.

What I'll always have a problem with...well, I'll save that for a future post. If you want to know what I mean, well...you'll just have to read the blog.

I did think about putting more space between the posts, but I'm still trying to figure out how WordPress works and what classes do what and all that sort of thing. I just haven't figured out what I want to do with it and what I can do with it that way. If I had my way, I would have built this thing from scratch, but I don't, so that's hindering me quite a bit.

My rule with underlines is based on usability 101, but again, I'm going to save some of that for a future post. The Cliff Notes version is that it's because I know that a large percentage of my audience prefer the underlines so they know where the hyperlinks actually are.
