Likewise. Reading and writing is good because it keeps the mind sharp. Hey, you win twice--you can learn and keep your mind active. What a wonderful idea!

Blogging is a good way of "meeting" people, developing relationships. There is one lady who I've never met who translates all of my posts into another language for free, as an example.

For me, blogging is a way of achieving my ambition. I would like to grow a reputable media institution - a source of news and ideas that people can trust. In the form of a network of blogs and podcasts.

The great thing about blogs is that they are usually 'informally opinionated' - there is an amount of transparency for the reader in knowing that most bloggers write at their own discretion, content consists of facts and opinions (which one can easily differentiate between).

In contrast, a consumer may switch on the TV and not necessarily realise that the news they trust in so much is influenced greatly by opinions. Because the presentation is so formal and appears to be so trustworthy, it's easy to believe that whatever words leave the reporters lips are absolute 100% fact.

I guess you could say that my motive for blogging all comes down to my desire to succeed in achieving my goals and get to the places I want to be in life.

2.non-commercial

I guess everyone knows why and how commercial blogging is popular

now the reason non-commercial blogging has gained popularity is b'coz it creates your online identity ...very much like social networks...(must have seen that social networks too have a blogging feature)

You personal online blog creates your online identity and help people get a refection of the person u are, things happening in your life and sometimes connects your with long distance friends.
We regularly keep a check on our friends blog ..and get an idea about their whereabouts .

This process slowly generates the feel of a community.. something that is the most important segment of social life
